How do I get a counselling appointment?
Simply fill in the form at the bottom of our home page. Alternatively, you can phone our reception. The number is 01903-714417. The office is open each week-day morning from 9am - 12 noon. There is an answerphone, so please leave us a message if the office is closed. You can also email us at admin@aruncounselling.com.
What happens after I have asked for an appointment?
You will be contacted by one of our assessors who will arrange a convenient time for you to have an assessment session. We try to do this within a week or two of you applying. The assessment session usually lasts about an 40 minutes during which time the counsellor will work with you to assess your counselling needs
You will be asked to pay a contribution of £25 for this assessment session. In cases of extreme hardship we can reduce this fee. Your completed assessment will then be placed into a confidentially held allocation file and as soon as a suitable counsellor is free to see you, he or she will contact you to make an appointment to begin.
You will meet weekly with your counsellor. We ask that you contribute a regular weekly amount. For those in full time employment this is usually £40 per session. We are able sometimes able to offer reduced rates for those who are unemployed and/or struggling financially. We also have a bursary fund although can only offer up to 12 sessions on the bursary scheme.
I work full-time. Do you have appointments in the evening or at weekends?
We have a few counselling appointments in the evenings from 5 - 9pm and on Saturday mornings. The more flexible you can be with your availability, the quicker we will be able to find you a suitable counsellor.
