Counselling for Individuals
Make space for you, talk it through
Life today can feel intense in very different ways. Sometimes it moves too fast, leaving you overwhelmed by work, family or juggling responsibilities. Other times, life can slow down as anxiety, depression, or exhaustion make even small tasks feel impossible.
At Arun Counselling Centre (ACC), we provide a safe, confidential, compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can pause, reflect, and make time for yourself – no matter what you’re experiencing.
A personalised approach
Counselling at ACC is about listening, understanding, and supporting you. It can help you navigate life’s pressures so you can find balance, clarity, and a sense of control.
Counselling helps you explore your feelings, understand your experiences, and find ways to cope that are personal and supportive.
Our counsellors are trained in a number of different modalities and techniques, and will try different methods to find out what works for you.
What counselling can support you through
Counselling can support you with coping strategies and understanding of your mental and emotional health, relationships and social experiences and life changes, as well as dealing with past experiences. It isn’t unusual for individuals to be dealing with one or more of these concurrently.
Mental and emotional health
Experiencing anxiety, depression, low mood, or feeling stuck
Dealing with anger, low self-esteem, or ongoing personal challenges
Feeling unsettled or fearful due to world events, news, Covid, or uncertainty
Managing neurodiversity
Relationships and social experiences
Difficulties with family, relationships, parenting, or separation
Experiencing bullying, harassment, or discrimination
Attachment difficulties
Life changes and past experiences
Experiencing grief, loss, loneliness, or attachment difficulties
Struggling with work-related stress, pressure, or redundancy
Effects of abuse, trauma, or difficult past experiences
How do I know if I need counselling?
From major life events to physical symptoms, or when usual coping strategies aren’t working, might all be signs you need counselling to move forward in life.
Costs
All clients require an assessment before counselling can commence. This helps to understand what support individuals need and which counsellor would be best for them to work with. The cost of an assessment is £25.
Following an assessment, clients are booked in for counselling. Our initial contract with clients is for 18 sessions over 18 consecutive weeks. Each of these sessions are priced at £40.
For those individuals facing financial hardship, we may be able to subsidise the cost of counselling through a bursary scheme. Your assessor can discuss these options with you during your assessment.
Emergency mental health support
Arun Counselling is not a crisis centre. If you, or someone you know is in need of urgent mental health support please find a list of services available to help here.
